LIFETIME CARE PLAN TERMS AND CONDITIONS
1. These Terms
1.1 Our Services
Nicholson Veterinary Centre provides structured, preventative veterinary healthcare through our Lifetime Care Plans and associated veterinary services (“Services”).
Our plans are designed to support your pet’s long-term health through:
- Routine check-ups and monitoring
- Preventative treatments
- Vaccinations
- Ongoing clinical care, advice, required treatments
Our approach prioritises prevention, continuity of care, and long-term relationships between our clinical team, you, and your pet (“Pet”).
1.2 What these terms cover
These Terms apply to your Lifetime Care Plan (“Plan”) and form a contract between you and Nicholson Veterinary Centre.

1.4 Animals covered
Our Plans are available for small animals including:
- Dogs
- Cats
We may accept other species at our discretion.
1.5 Nature of the Plan
The Plan is a 12-month fixed-term agreement.
- The full annual fee is agreed at the outset
- Monthly payments are offered for convenience only
- Monthly payments do not constitute a monthly contract
We do not offer regulated credit agreements.
1.6 Not insurance
The Plan is not an insurance policy and does not replace pet insurance.
We do not provide insurance advice and recommend that you consider independent insurance where appropriate.
1.7 Agreement
By registering, you confirm that:
- You accept these Terms
- You understand this is not a regulated financial product
- You agree to the full 12-month commitment

3. Your Contract With Us
3.1 When the contract begins
Your contract begins when:
- You register for a Plan
- Your first payment is made
- Your Pet undergoes an initial health check (if required)
- We confirm acceptance onto a Plan
3.2 Your responsibilities
You confirm that:
- You are the legal owner of the Pet
- All information provided is accurate and up to date
- You will inform us of any changes to your Pet’s health
3.3 Clinical judgement
All care is provided according to our professional judgement.
We may:
- Adjust treatments
- Recommend alternatives
- Decline services that are not clinically appropriate
4. Services
4.1 Duration
Plans run for a minimum of 12 months from the start date.
4.2 Plan suitability
If your Pet is not suitable for a selected Plan, we may:
- Offer an alternative Plan
- Decline or cancel the Plan
Any services already provided may be charged at standard rates.
4.3 One Pet per Plan
Each Pet requires a separate Plan.
4.4 Delivery of services
Services are provided:
- At our practice
- In line with Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS) standards
You are responsible for attending appointments and following advice given.
4.5 Preventative care focus
Our Plans are designed to support preventative healthcare.
Not all treatments are included, and all care is subject to clinical need.
4.6 Fair use
Plans are intended for reasonable and appropriate use.
We may restrict or suspend services where there is:
- Repeated unnecessary appointments
- Failure to follow clinical advice
- Misuse of services
4.7 Missed appointments
Missed appointments without notice may incur a charge.
4.8 Medications and treatments
You must:
- Use medications as directed
- Inform us of any reactions
Alternative treatments may incur additional costs.
4.9 Other practices
Services provided by other veterinary practices are not covered under your Plan.
4.10 Emergencies
We will make reasonable efforts to provide emergency care.
Where necessary, we may refer your Pet to third-party providers.
5. Price and Payment
5.1 Pricing
The price is set out in your Plan.
5.2 Payment
You may pay:
- Annually in advance
- Monthly (for convenience only)
5.3 Late payments
Late or missed payments may result in:
- Administration fees
- Suspension of services
- Termination of your Plan
5.4 No refunds
As this is a fixed-term agreement:
- Fees are non-refundable
- The full annual cost remains payable
Exceptions may apply in limited circumstances.
5.5 Price changes
We may review pricing annually and will provide notice of any changes.
5.6 Additional services
Services not included in your Plan will be charged separately.
6. Changes to Your Plan
You may request changes at any time.
We will advise if changes are possible and any impact on price.
7. Our Right to Make Changes
We may make changes to:
- Reflect legal or regulatory updates
- Improve services
Significant changes will be communicated in advance.
8. Ending the Contract
8.1 Your rights
You may cancel at any time, but:
- The full annual fee remains payable
8.2 Cooling-off period
You may cancel within 14 days for a full or partial refund, subject to services already used.
9. Our Right to End the Contract
We may suspend or terminate your Plan if:
- Payments are missed
- Terms are breached
- Staff are treated inappropriately

11. Liability
We are responsible for foreseeable loss caused by our negligence.
We do not exclude liability where it would be unlawful to do so.

13. General
- These Terms are governed by English law
- If part of these Terms is invalid, the rest remains in force

Final Agreement
By registering for a Lifetime Care Plan, you confirm that you:
- Have read and understood these Terms
- Agree to be bound by them
